The first time you run SkypeMate, you will see a Skype window similar to the one below. Select “Allow this program to use Skype”, then click "OK".

If you see the SkypeMate icon grayed out in the computer's system tray:
, make sure Skype is running. If Skype is running and SkypeMate icon is still grey, you may need to re-allow it to access Skype:
1. Open Skype --> Tools --> Options:

2. Go to Privacy and click on "Manage other programs' access to Skype":

3. In "Manage API Access Control", make sure SkypeMate.exe is listed and is "Allowed to use Skype":

4.If it is "not allowed", click Change, then select "Allow this program to use Skype":

5. Click OK and Save Skype Options to exit.
The SkypeMate icon in system tray should now appear green, indicating Skype and SkypeMate are properly connected.
