Skype Gateway AU-600Features |
Toll Bypass
Using Toll Bypass, you can route calls to use the Skype network to make low cost international calls with Skype, or local calls from the telephone line connected to the Gateway. Toll bypass is similar to remote call forwarding, except the incoming caller hears a beep, enters a password and then dials out an arbitrary number instead of fixed call forwarding.
There are two common scenarios for this:
Phone Line to Skype Toll Bypass and Skype to Phone Line Toll Bypass.
Phone Line to Skype Toll Bypass
You can call in from your PSTN or cell phone to the computer that the USB Gateway is connected to and make a low cost SkypeOut international call. This is useful if you are in the same geographical location as USB Gateway and want to make international calls.
1. Place a call to the telephone line that is connected to your USB Telephone Adapter.
2. When you hear a beep, slowly dial your Toll Bypass Pin number, then dial *
For example: Dial 1 2 3 4 *
For more information on setting your Pin number, see Configuring Toll Bypass.
3. To dial a number using the SkypeOut service, do one of the following:
- Dial the speed-dial you assigned to the telephone number you want to call, then *, for example: 7 7 *
- Dial the telephone number you want to call using the appropriate SkypeOut format, then *
00 + country code + number *
For example: 00 1 555 555 6789 *
Skype will connect you to the telephone number.
Skype to Phone Line Toll Bypass
